This critical collection brings together Shakespeare's two major narrative poems, Venus and Adonis and The Rape of Lucrece, and three shorter works: The Passionate Pilgrim, The Phoenix and the Turtle, and A Lover's Complaint. "The crow may bathe his coal-black wings in mire / And unperceived fly with the filth away; / But if the like the snow-white swan desire, / The stain upon his silver down will stay." An attractive reading copy, in near-fine condition.
